Traveling to Morelia City

Morelia International Airport
There are several options to arrive to Morelia, Michoacan. The easiest way is arriving directly to Morelia International Airport (General Francisco Mujica Airport / MLM). The airport is located at 27 km from Morelia City. It is necesary take a shuttle from the airport to Morelia City (No public transportation is available on the airport).
Mexico City International Airport
The second option is arrive to Mexico City International Airport (AICM), take a cab to the Terminal Poniente bus station and take a bus to Morelia City. The bus connections between Mexico City and Morelia (in regular schedulers) are each 30 minutes and the journey is around 4 hours. The journey between the airport and Terminal Poniente depends on traffic (but is around 1h in average). The mexican buses are georgeus (like first class airplane).
Airplane Connections
- The AICM have connections to all the world. The international mexican airline is Aeromexico, but there are other local (low fare) options with international connections like Interjet and Volaris.
Guadalajara International Airport
The last option is arrive to Guadalajara International Airport in the state of Jalisco. This city is the second largest in Mexico and have regular connections with Morelia. Once arrive to the airport, take a cab to Nueva Central de Autobuses bus station and take a bus to Morelia City. The connections are each one and a half hour in regular schedulers and the journey is around 4h. The difference with Mexico City is that Guadalajara have less traffic in the airport arrivals and in vehicules.
Airplane Connections
- Guadalajara have connections with 21 cities in the south of USA (San Jose, Fresno, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, Oakland, Orlando, Miami, etc) including Chicago, Atlanta, and New York. The international mexican airline is Aeromexico, but there are other local (low fare) options with international connections like Interjet and Volaris.
